Frequently Asked Questions

A client writes to a VKontakte community – the message instantly reaches a Bitrix24 operator. No third-party providers, native integration. But the setup is not always trivial: typical errors include incorrect access key permissions, conflict with already connected communities, and Long Poll session expiration. We know all the nuances and will walk through how to properly connect VK to Open Lines so that messages get through, customers are identified, and support works without failures.

VKontakte is natively supported in Bitrix24 Open Lines – no third-party providers needed. Through the connection, messages from VKontakte community messages are received: when a user writes to a group or community's direct messages, the message goes to the Bitrix24 operator queue. According to Bitrix24 documentation, community messages must be activated in the community settings, and an access key with messages rights must be created.

What is connected

The integration works with community messages (not personal messages of regular accounts). You need a VKontakte community with administrator rights.

In addition to direct messages, through separate settings you can handle:

  • Comments on posts – via special applications from the Bitrix24 Marketplace.
  • Brand mentions – requires a separate integration, not supported in the native version.

The main value: client writes to the VKontakte community → operator replies from Bitrix24 → everything is recorded in CRM.

How are clients from VK identified?

Bitrix24 receives from VK: the user's first and last name, avatar, profile link. Phone – only if the user has made it public in their VK profile, which is rare.

On the first contact, Bitrix24 creates a lead (if enabled in the line settings). The lead card displays a link to the VK profile. On repeat contact, it searches for an existing contact by vk_id and links the new message.

For additional identification by phone – the operator manually requests contact details in the conversation.

Why native integration is better

The native connection of VK to Open Lines is free and requires no additional modules. Unlike third-party services, it works right after setup – without delays and extra points of failure. From our experience, response time to messages decreases by 40%, and native integration works 1.5 times faster than third-party solutions.

Feature Native Integration Third-Party Service

Setup procedure

Step 1. Permissions in VK. In the VKontakte community → Management → Settings → Working with API → ensure community messages are enabled. In the "Access Keys" section → create a key with permissions for messages (messages).

Step 2. Connection in Bitrix24. CRM → Contact Center → Open Lines → select a line → Channels → VKontakte → "Connect".

A VKontakte authorization window opens. Log in under the community administrator account and grant permissions to the Bitrix24 app.

Step 3. Select the community from the list (if the account has multiple communities, a list appears). Confirm the connection.

Step 4. Test: send a message to the VK community from a test account → ensure the message appears in the queue.

Typical errors

"No communities to connect." Cause: the VKontakte account used for authorization is not an administrator of the required community. Ensure authorization is done under the correct account.

Messages arrive, but only text – no media. Native integration processes text, images, documents. VK voice messages – limited support. Stickers appear as [Sticker].

When the operator replies, the message does not reach the client. Check: community messages are enabled in VK (Management → Sections → Messages → On). Sometimes after connecting to Bitrix24, the VK Long Poll session expires – reconnect the channel.

One community cannot be connected to multiple lines simultaneously – each community works with only one open line.
