When a consulting company enters the market, do clients evaluate expertise rather than the product?
Potential clients study case studies, consultant profiles, and publications. The decision is made in a few minutes. To avoid losing at this touchpoint, we build websites on 1C-Bitrix. Every page is a showcase of knowledge.
The platform allows managing a service catalog, a content hub, and client accounts without daily developer assistance. This article covers the architecture, details, and our experience.
For example, we recently launched a project for a consulting company with 20 experts: organic traffic growth was 150%, lead cost decreased threefold (cost calculated after audit), and payback came in 4 months.
The solution scales from a small practice to a branched network of offices with dozens of consultants.
Consulting company website development on 1C-Bitrix: architecture and details
Service catalog by practice areas — consulting website development
Services are structured in the "Services" infoblock with sections by practice area: strategic consulting, financial consulting, HR consulting, IT consulting. Within each practice area are items with detailed descriptions.
Item properties:
- Short description — for the catalog card (
PREVIEW_TEXT) - Detailed description — full page (
DETAIL_TEXTin HTML) - Icon — SVG file
- Related cases — link to the "Cases" infoblock
- Related experts — link to the "Consultants" infoblock
- CTA text — string property for the call-to-action button
The section page is rendered by the bitrix:catalog.section component. The detail page — bitrix:news.detail with a sidebar: related cases, expert profiles, booking form.
Consultant profiles
The "Consultants" infoblock stores data for each expert: photo, position, specialization, biography, certifications, publications, speaking engagements. On the detail page, their articles and cases are pulled in. This builds an expert profile that supports E-E-A-T.
Cases with results
The "Cases" infoblock contains the client, task, solution, result — numerical metrics (revenue growth, cost reduction), practice area, consultant, duration. The template includes CaseStudy microdata and visual cards with metrics.
How does a content hub increase traffic by 5 times?
For a consulting company, organic traffic is the main acquisition channel. Paid search generates leads, but the cost per click in strategic consulting topics is high. Content marketing with E-E-A-T reduces dependence on paid traffic by 5–10 times and builds reputation. According to Google guidelines, sites with clear authorship gain a ranking advantage.
Content hub: infoblock architecture A content hub is a section that brings together articles, research, checklists, and webinars. The "Content" infoblock with classification:
- Content type: article, research, checklist, webinar recording, infographic
- Practice area — link to service catalog sections
- Author — link to consultants (critical for E-E-A-T)
- Publication date — for sorting and sitemap
- Level: basic, advanced, expert
- Related materials — link to items in the same infoblock
The bitrix:news.list component renders the content hub with AJAX filtering. Human-readable URLs: /insights/strategy/, /insights/finance/.
Authorship and expert signals Each article indicates the author with a profile: photo, name, position, number of publications, LinkedIn links. The Article microdata includes author with Person, datePublished, dateModified, publisher.
Internal linking and content clusters Each practice area forms a cluster: a pillar page (2000–3000 words) and cluster articles. The "Related articles" widget outputs 3 items via bitrix:news.list with a filter by practice area.
Content updates The infoblock uses DATE_CREATE and TIMESTAMP_X. The template outputs both dates. A Bitrix agent generates a weekly report on articles older than 6 months without updates.
Conversion through content Contextual CTA blocks are placed in each article. They are stored in the "CTA blocks" infoblock linked to practice areas. Insertion occurs after the second <h2> via DOMDocument — centrally, without editing each article.
How does CRM integration increase conversion by 1.5 times?
Consultation booking form via the "Web Forms" module: name, phone, email, practice area, time. Submission creates a lead in Bitrix24 CRM via REST API, assigning a responsible manager via a business process. Conversion from form to deal after implementing automatic assignment grew by 30%.
Private section for clients
Section with authorization via bitrix:system.auth.form. Functionality: documents (infoblock with group permissions), reports, notifications. Access via Bitrix user groups.

Typical mistakes when launching a consulting website
- Ignoring content authorship — without linking to consultants, E-E-A-T does not work. - Lack of microdata for cases and articles — visibility in search is lost. - Weak internal linking between services and content — users do not proceed to order. - Storing all documents in open access — current clients need a private section.Contact us to discuss your project.
